Niskayuna Baseball Families,
It's that time of the year again. Niska Day 2025 will be held on Saturday, May 17th. As in previous years, the parade is a community favorite as residents get to watch all of Niskayuna youth pridefully march through our local neighborhoods.
We encourage all of our rec and travel players (in full uniform) to march with their respective Niskayuna Baseball League teams on May 17th! There will be plenty of time to do the parade and head back to the fields for any scheduled afternoon games. Representatives from Niskayuna Baseball League will be at the parade to help keep things organized.
There is additional info here that provides greater detail on NiskaDay. In addition, we will have information on our NiskyBaseball.com website as well.
Marchers should be dropped off at **Hillside Elementary School** to meet their groups and line up. Upon arrival, look for a volunteer with a neon shirt or a lanyard to find your group. Marchers should be dropped off no later than 9:20 AM on the day of the event. Additional roads will be closed in this area shortly after this time (including Van Antwerp & Cornelius). Hillside School will be open for bathroom visits, and we ask that young ones are accompanied by an adult while in the school.
*We strongly encourage parents and marchers to park at Niskayuna High School (where the parade ends) and take the shuttle over to Hillside Elementary School. These shuttles will be running from 8-3pm. Parents are encouraged to march with their children.
Also please make sure that your child knows to be courteous of others in the parade and the spectators and observe the following:
Candy may be given out along the parade route, and we encourage you to do so! Because there are often young children trying to collect the candy, it should be tossed, underhanded, towards the sides of the road and not thrown to avoid injury. We've seen our kids' arms and on Niska Day please tell your child to show off the double play toss and not the throw to home from right. (We will have many bags of candy for our players to toss out to spectators.)
Feel free to bring your own candy also. Lastly, there should be no paper flyers, handouts, or political signs.
Thanks, and we can't wait to see you there!
Any questions or concerns please out to our team leads:
